The Gorram Nerd Hour: Volume 3 Issue 3

The boys kick things off with a couple follow up stories from the past couple weeks before moving into this week’s news. Of course they talk about BatFleck and the new Bourne rumblings, but the news that Brian is most excited about, well, you’ll have to listen to find out.

Lots of stuff about Breaking Bad and its crew has come to light. Judd Apatow has a new movie in the works, but he isn’t directing or penning the script. There is a new cast member for Fast and Furious 6 or 7 or 8, we don’t remember.

And the boys end the show with an interview with AZ Power Girl about a couple of conventions coming up in the not too distant future.

Once they remember they're on a movie show, they review the blu-ray of The Walking Dead's third season, the Netflix original series House of Cards, Bonnie Rotten's Beyond Fucked for The Blue Cheese and the Rainn Wilson led Super. That leads Jeff and Kevin into a discussion about the fine work of James Gunn and his future with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

After that, Kevin and Dave talk about their experience at Wizard World Chicago and the conventions they and the rest of Abnormal Entertainment plan to attend this year.

Talk Zebra: Episode 18: Trashy Slutbag Whore

Miley Cyrus went and did some crazy shit at the VMA's, and you know that your favorite zeebs have reaction to that. There was also a fantasy football draft among members of Abnormal Entertainment that Tony was a part of, and he tells Camm what some of the more amusing team names are among the guys in the league.

For Five Dub, Tony profiles what he feels is the best American film of the past 20 years, The Shawshank Redemption... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGfAj9ZJymo.

In MOLI, this week we have a battle of songs that were written by one star, but recorded by another. Camm is up first with "Ephiphany", a song written by Ne-Yo and performed by Chrisette Michele, heard here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZITmLJj1DY. Then Tony goes back to his love songs roots with "Lady", a song written by Lionel Richie and performed by Kenny Rogers, heard here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6avFSctP8dM.

For the first time in Talk Zebra history, Tony breaks new ground with his Man Of The Hour selection: it's not a black guy! It's actor Daniel Dae Kim of "Lost" and "Hawaii Five-O" fame, a personal favorite of Tony and Camm both, seen here... http://scifimafia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/lost-daniel-dae-kim-WIDE.jpg. Camm goes with actor Ryan Kwanten of "True Blood" fame, seen here... http://desktopwallpaper.org.in/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Ryan-Kwanten-008.jpg.

The Gorram Nerd Hour Movie Review: Jacob Reviews "White House Down"

Do you like Die Hard? Do you like it when the White House gets blown up? Don't answer that second question, or you'll get put on a watch list. Do you like movies that think they can do Die Hard better than Steven Seagal did with Under Siege? If so, then this movie is for you!

If watching a movie that rips off everything you used to love about action movies and does a cut and paste style script doesn't appeal to you (and it shouldn't), then skip it.

If you're still interested in knowing more, then listen to Jacob's review of Turd Sandwich... ur, I mean White House Down.

The Gorram Nerd Hour: Volume 3 Issue 2

The boys start the show with a little bit of narcissism. But what else have we come to expect? Anyway, into the meat and potatoes of the show, lots of movie news including casting for Guardians of the Galaxy.

What is going on with the release date for Star Wars, and why are strange and mysterious trailers for a new Bad Robot movie showing up? Yeah! A sequel to The Conjuring! And a remake of Ben-Hur! And more Riddick! And gourmet coffee! Wait, what?

Talk Zebra: Episode 17 - Hosanna In The Highest

The Zeebs talk of a promising young actor who committed suicide at the top of the show, and somehow that leads into a hilarious discussion about singing in church. Because, you know, that's a great segue. Camm offers up the first-ever reality show for his Five Dub submission, and that show is Masterchef... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9WPjeJ2TUc.

The MOLI category this week is love songs, and we present our listeners with two vastly different choices. Tony's up first with a beautiful piece of music sung by a rather obscure artist, who was a contestant on The X-Factor from 2011. Her name is Drew Ryniewicz, and the song is "It Must Have Been Love", heard here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msFSO7Xa8Ew. Camm chooses something from one of his all-time favorites, Andre3000, who offers up a unique take on a love song with Outkast's "Prototype", heard here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqhJfjbNuQg.

For this week's serving of delectable men in MOTH, Camm goes with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, who's apparently known for things other than his tattoos, seen here... http://www.drummerworld.com/pics/drumpics24/travis11.jpg. For his choice, Tony keeps it in the music world with R&B singer Mario, seen here... http://www.hlisted.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/mario.jpg.

The Gorram Nerd Hour Movie Review: Jacob Reviews "Evil Dead" (2013)

Evil Dead, as a trilogy, is something Jacob has always held sacred. Welcome to Volume 3 of the Gorram Nerd Hour with Brian Smith and Jacob O’Neal!

Fifth Bourne movie? Sharknado 2? Raven Symone? Oscar news? Avatar? All this movie news and the boys go on more rants than Dennis Miller when he was funny.

Why on Earth are we getting more remakes? At least this one has the original creators helping. Superman/Batman rumors are already running rampant, and the movie isn’t even written yet. Who is going to be cast as the new Batman? Are the rumors about the Fantastic Four reboot true? For Brian’s sake let’s hope not, Jacob might actually kill him.

Speaking of Jacob, he finally started watching Breaking Bad, and it has not disappointed. All this and more on this, the first issue of Volume 3 of the Gorram Nerd Hour with Brian Smith and Jacob O’Neal from Abnormal Entertainment.

The Gorram Nerd Hour Movie Review: Jacob Reviews The Unreleased "Fantastic Four" From 1994

Twentieth Century Fox has had the rights to Fantastic Four for years. It's no secret they mismanaged the franchise. That's why they're rebooting already. But back in 1994, Roger Corman's production company owned the rights. They were about to lapse and they had to get a movie into production immediately to ensure they didn't lose them.

Rather than make a proper movie, Corman's company chose to make something they never intended to release. They didn't tell the cast that, of course. The results were... well, we don't want to spoil the surprise. Just listen to Jacob's review.

The Gorram Nerd Hour Movie Review: Jacob Reviews "Jug Face"

Not too long ago, Jacob had the chance to talk to both producer Andrew Van Den Houten and actor Daniel Manche about Jug Face and other projects. So it was only fitting Jacob should finally get to review the movie.

Jug Face is the story of a backwoods cult who worship a pit in the ground. When the pit requires a sacrifice, a mentally challenged man sculpts the victim's face on a jug.

This doesn't sound like a good movie from what I described. but it's not about about the pit. It's about the people. Hear what Jacob has to say about it.
