Twentieth Century Fox has had the rights to Fantastic Four for years.
It's no secret they mismanaged the franchise. That's why they're
rebooting already. But back in 1994, Roger Corman's production company
owned the rights. They were about to lapse and they had to get a movie
into production immediately to ensure they didn't lose them.
Rather than make a proper movie, Corman's company chose to make something
they never intended to release. They didn't tell the cast that, of
course. The results were... well, we don't want to spoil the surprise.
