The Atomic Fallout Society: Episode 117 - We are on the Verge of an Atomic Flashpoint!

The Atomic Fallout Society is here!

The boys prep for some time off and picked a good time to get set for some big changes. They decide to revamp the format of the show with this being the last show they review the usual comics of the week, but they send off the old format with one last review with a twist. The boys talk about the current series you need to be reading right now.

David kicks things off with his love letter to Guardians of the Galaxy, the one Marvel title that Dave says you should give a damn about. Chris gets a little bestial with Animal Man from DC, and Brian rounds things off with the one title you'd expect from the beard of Steel, Batman/Superman.

The boys round on the show by giving a little preview of what the new format entails with some discussion on the latest geek news.

It's Atomic Fallout time!

Unprotected Sports with Tony and The Lion: Round 102: Seattle State Of Mind

With Leo off this week, Tony is joined once again by Seattle's own Rochelle Taylor, who makes her second appearance on the show. She offers her thoughts on the reaction of the city to the Seahawks' Super Bowl triumph, as well as how the team can keep their winning ways for years to come. She also touches on Michael Sam's coming out announcement, and if the Seahawks could be a team interested in drafting him.

With Rochelle being a die-hard Yankees fan, Tony had to ask her about the team's offseason, and she discusses the decision to let Robinson Cano walk in free agency, her thoughts on the players they did end up signing, Derek Jeter's retirement announcement, and, of course, the whole A-Rod suspension fiasco.

Tony then wraps up the show with a Pussification topic. No Sandusky Award this week, so next week we'll award two "winners."

The boys are back, tired and high on sugar. Can they get through the show?

It's the Atomic Fallout Society with David Sabal, Brian Smith, and Chris Lilagan! Brian kicks things off with Trillium #6 from Jeff Lemire and Vertigo Comics. It's a series that has caught the eye of the esteemed Professor Smith. How's this tale of time travel faring so far? David follows it up with a look at the All-New Invaders from Marvel Comics. Invaders #2 is brought to the table by James Robinson and Steve Pugh. This is re-introduction to a forgotten team. Can this be a sign of good things from Marvel Comics? David sets the table for Chris, who breaks the record of good comics for the past couple weeks with Swamp Thing. That's right, Swamp Thing from DC. Chris feels the title isn't as strong as it could be. Could the Green be losing some of its luster?

In MOLI, we present a battle of white singer who sound black. As fate would have it, the zeebs have the same person on the brain. Camm goes with Michael McDonald's "I Keep Forgetting", heard here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjqOsYRQI0o Not to be outdone, Tony goes a bit more old school with The Doobie Brothers' "What A Fool Believes"--with Michael McDonald as the frontman--heard here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJe1iUuAW4M

Our Men Of The Hour share similarities and differences. Tony's pick is football player Kerry Rhodes, who was "outed" by his former personal assistant, even though Kerry denies the charge. He can be seen here... http://images.mstarz.com/data/images/full/11979/kerry-rhodes.jpg Meanwhile, Camm goes with actor Wentworth Miller, who happily came out of the closet, seen here... http://bestof.provocateuse.com/images/photos/wentworth_miller_87.jpg
